Picture Quality

If we ignore about its curved panel, LG OLED C6 series offers similar display performance than above series E6 or lower series B6. It is one of 2016 TV models with stunning performance in picture quality. Of course, this cannot be separated from superb performance of OLED in black level, contrast ratio, and color gamut coverage. The other benefit of LG C6 series, its picture engine called Perfect Mastering Engine” already supports HDR 10 and Dolby Vision HDR formats. This would be a benefit because the competitors like Samsung SUHD TV or top Model Sony 4K TVs support HDR 10 only.

Discuss about the performance of LG OLED C6 in performing HDR, its performance is really great. On black level, OLED C6 can reach almost zero nits of black level, lower than 0.0005 nits of black level, a standardization set by UHD alliance for black level. And for this value, there is only OLED TV can do this job thanks to the use of pixel dimming. While peak brightness achieved by C6 series is about 745 nits, more than 540 nits set by UHD Alliance for OLED. About peak brightness, what achieved by OLED C6 may still far below what reached by top level Samsung SUHD TV . But for OLED TV, this can be said very bright.

Motion Control

Talking about motion control, this course has to do when it displaying fast moving images LG C6 and its native refresh rate panel. And performance of LG OLED C6 can be said excellent. For handling motion blur, it is powered by native 120 Hz refresh rate panel.  This value is same to the native refresh rate of top Models LED TVs like Samsung SUUHD TV or LG SUHD TV. But the result is much better than them. Motion blur can be eliminated completely on the screen of LG C6 when it is used for watching sports program or fast movies. But like its brother B6 series, when it used for playing 24p movies from disk media or streaming sources, LG C6 is not so good when controlling the judder, particularly for 24p movies via 60p signal.

UHD Up-scaling

Whether it is entry level of LG 4K TVs with cheap price or top series of LG OLED TV with expensive price, their performance in Up-scaling contents with 1080p resolution or lower to 4K resolution is similar, that is great. 480p signals like from DVDs is up-scaled in near 4K quality greatly, moreover higher resolution like 720p from Cable TV or 1080p from full HD Blu Ray Disk, of course the result is more excellent. It performance is not less inferior to the competitor. Considering 4K Contents that available in the market still scarce, of course this will be very useful. In any case, your main consideration in buying 4K TV certainly want to enjoy videos contents in 4K quality.

3D Performance

One of the advantages of LG OLED C6 than the lower series B6 is about 3D technology where it is powered by passive FPR 3D technology. Talking about its performance, it is absolute stunning, even for 3D images in 4K quality. OLED C6 with passive 3D offers absolute free flickers and crosstalk.

Sound Quality

Unlike OLED C6 or G6 series, LG C6 is not equipped with built in Woofer. This course makes its sound quality is less than the maximum in low frequency or bass. But because its audio system is designed by Harman Kardon, make audio performance of LG C6 is above average. The separation between each channel on stereo sound is exquisite whilst mid-range and high frequency reproduction is also very well. But this is not for low frequency or bass. Once again, there is no built in Wi-FI on C6 series, so this make its bass performance is minimal.

LG C6 Unlike other series of LG’s 2016 OLED TV lineup that comes with 4 HDMI ports, LG C6 is only equipped with 3 HDMI USB ports. This will become a new problem if you have more than 3 HD Devices. Nonetheless, its HDMI already supports UHD 4K 50p/60p, HDR, and HDCP. Moving on USB Ports, I think 3 USB ports (2 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0) are quite enough t cover your disk media, or other devices that use USB as its major connectivity.  LG LED C6 is  equipped with 1 Component In, 1 Composite In, 1 RF (Terrestrial), 1 Ethernet Ports, 1 Audi Out, (Optical), and Built-in high speed Wi-Fi.

Smart TV

Like other LG’s 2016 Smart TV lineup, it also features WebOS 3.0 as it platform. We all know, in WebOS is simple, fast, responsive, and comfort to use. With some updates, it offers better performance than previous years. Some issues on two previous versions like streaming ability, and others, they have been fixed on this version. User interface is also designed more intuitive and makes you easier and comfort when managing your favorite apps. Additionally, there are also new additional features like Magic Zoom or Mobile Magic Connection. Talking about apps provided, although not as complete as Tizen or Android TV, apps provided are very diverse. Almost all apps considered important are available on WebOS 3.0.

– Black Level is perfect
– Infinite Contrast
– Wide Color Gamu
– Support HDR 10 and Dolby Vision
– Excellent WebOS 3.0
– Great 3D performance

– Curved panel didn’t provide many additional benefits.
– Peak Brightness is not as bright as top level LED TVs
